Why I Write
What started out as a fun hobby to keep myself from getting bored in church (and sometimes school) turned into a passion for creating poetry, fictional stories and researching nonfiction topics of interest. I studied Journalism in college but really love the freedom of fiction. I love writing and the written word and enjoy bringing information and entertainment to my readers. Thank you for being a part of that.
My Writing

Fiction
As a fiction writer, I love writing entertaining stories of romance, fantasy, and sometimes horror, and I write in each of these genres. It is so hard to pick a favorite, but one day I might! They each make my imagination run wild, and that is the most fun for me - letting my characters talk to me and show me what the story is and where it needs to go. It is fun to play around in fiction!

Poetry
Poetry has always been a space where I can play with language and meaning, and I’ve found a special joy in crafting haiku. There’s something deeply fulfilling about distilling emotions and imagery into just a few carefully chosen words. The challenge of balancing tone, style, and impact within such a tight structure pushes me creatively and feels uniquely rewarding.

Nonfiction
My nonfiction interests are just as varied as my fiction. What can I say? I'm eclectic. I love essay form, memoir, journalism and writing on my blog. Through exploring the world around us, and the human condition, we are better able to communicate and understand each other; at least that is the hope. Nonfiction is an innovative way to examine reality, and I find it a satisfying writing form to work in.
